St. Rose
Every sanctuary has its own particular stillness.
My little town had two Catholic churches: St. Anthony’s and St. Rose. I loved going to St. Rose because it was an older building, the lights were very dim, the red velvet seats and red carpet was accented by the gold ornaments and brass instruments played by the Latino band.
The air was thick with incense and music. The space was sacred and alive. It was dark and sweet. It was beautiful.
